The Institute is partnering with local schools on the collaborative River Raisin Watershed Monitoring Project. Students collect macroinvertebrates and assess stream conditions at designated sites along the River Raisin.
Monitoring activities include testing water samples for the presence of fecal coliform and other total suspended solids. Participating schools have begun to look at stewardship and long-term goals for restoration and are exploring opportunities for small restoration projects in their communities. |
